About the Philadelphia Area Team Tennis Association

Company Snapshot

The Philadelphia Area Team Tennis Association (PATTA) is a 501c3 non-proit dedicated to providing affordable team tennis opportunities for kids in the Philadelphia area.  Founded in 2008 by Justin DePietropaolo, PATTA has created and given thousands of children the opportunity to learn and play tennis. Our organization has 2 main forms of programming:

Local Tennis Leagues These local leagues are aimed at beginner and intermediate players and provide a once-a-week program for 7 weeks in the spring and fall.  We have 4 different age divisions for these leagues and use the USTA 10 and under format for practice and play.  We also offer these at an affordable rate that one might not be able to find at a local tennis club in their area.

The league format is very simple and runs a little like a local baseball or soccer program.  We have 3 weeks of practice, followed by 4 weeks of match play.  Each player is put on a team and compete for their team during the match play sessions.

Currently we have local leagues in Exton, West Chester, Downingtown, Aston, Oxford, Newtown Square, and Morgantown.  The spring leagues lead up to an All Star tournament between leagues at the end of the season.  .   As an organization, we organize everything for the coaches, teams, and players.  We’ve served over 2000 players across the area in these leagues since 2008

USTA Jr. Team Tennis Travel Leagues We run 5 seasons of Championship Travel-Based  USTA Jr. Team Tennis (JTT).  JTT is much like travel soccer or Babe Ruth Baseball and organized over a 7-8 week season, where teams play home and away each Saturday.  PATTA does not organize the players into teams like the local leagues, but rather has coaches register teams and players.  These coaches come everywhere from clubs, high schools, or even parents that want their kids to play on a team.  Then we organize those teams into divisions of play.  Players are charged a small fee ($12) to compete in the league which covers the cost of online registration, league management, and awards for winning teams.

We’ve served over 5000 players across the Philadelphia area in these leagues since 2008.
