An Affordable Tennis Program Managed and Run by the Philadelphia Area Team Tennis Association
Learn and Play Tennis on a Team! Just as in baseball, soccer, and basketball, players will be placed on tennis teams and play against other teams. Here are some details:
Where: Penn’s Grove School Tennis Courts, Oxford, PA (602 Garfield St., Oxford, PA 19363)
When: Matches and Practices will be Sunday afternoons and at 1 of 4 sessions:
8 and under Red Division
For Ages and Abilities: 5-8 Year olds, All Abilities Welcome
Format: Red Transition Balls, 36 Foot Court
Time First 3 Sessions: Sundays, 1:00pm-2:00pm
Last 4 Sessions: Sunday, 12:30pm-1:45pm
10 and under Orange Division
For Ages and Abilities:9-10 Years Old, All Abilities Welcome (Very Experienced 8 Year Olds May also Play)
Format: Orange Transition Balls, 60 Foot Court
Time First 3 Sessions: Sundays, 2:00pm-3:00pm
Last 4 Sessions: Sunday, 1:45pm-3:00pm
11-13 Green Ball Division
For Ages: Beginner and Intermediate 11-13 Years Old. (Very Experienced 10 Year Olds May also Play)
Format: Yellow Balls, Full 70 Foot Court
Time First 3 Sessions: Sundays, 3:00pm-4:00pm
Last 4 Sessions: Sunday, 3:00pm-4:15pm
13-16 Yellow Ball Division
For Ages: Intermediate and Advanced 13-16 Years Old (Very Experienced 12 Year Olds May also Play)
Format: Yellow Balls, Full 70 Foot Court
Time First 3 Sessions: Sundays, 4:00pm-5:00pm
Last 4 Sessions: Sunday, 4:15pm-5:30pm
Dates for the program will be: 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 6/4, 6/11. 5/28 will be used as a rain-date.
Cost: $85 for the season, and includes uniform, award, and end of season party.
Weekly Format: The first 3 weeks will be practices, focusing on fundamentals, games, and scoring. The last 4 weeks will be devoted to match play against other teams. The last session will be a match/awards ceremony.
Calendar:
April 17th – Registration Ends
April 23rd – First Practices
May 14th – Anticipated Matches Begin
June 11th – Anticipated final matches/Awards Ceremony
June 17th – All-Star Competition between leagues.
